Green Among a Select Group of Notable Women Leaders in Book to Be Published on May 15

New York, NY (May 14, 2010) — National law firm Epstein Becker Green today announced that Frances Green, a Member of the Firm in the Labor and Employment practice and co-founder of the Firm's Women's Initiative, is among a select group of notable women leaders — including Michelle Obama, J.K. Rowling, Barbara Walters, Helen Mirren, Sonia Gandhi, Suze Orman, Maya Angelou and Angelina Jolie — who have contributed chapters to the forthcoming book, Goddess Shift: Women Leading for a Change. Royalties from its sale will be used to support non-profit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of girls and young women: Capacitar, the Global Fund for Women and Tostan.

Goddess Shift is an anthology of more than 40 inspiring chapters of personal stories, written by some of the most influential women today in diverse fields, including government, business, entertainment, sports and literature. The chapters discuss how these women have empowered themselves to create change in all walks of life. The book describes the shape of the new human family that is emerging from the leadership of these remarkable women, and the very different future they envision for the world.

In her chapter, "One Thousand Small Steps, a Few Giant Leaps," Green describes her journey from corporate executive to the convent of the Maryknoll Sisters to living and working in Japan to law school and, finally, to a career as a lawyer and co-founder of the Epstein Becker Green Women's Initiative and the Executive Women's Networking Blog. The Women's Initiative and the blog are dedicated to enhancing the careers of professional women by providing opportunities both inside and outside the office to network, share information, acquire skills and develop rewarding professional relationships. This is in line with the Firm's longstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion, which encompasses the employment of and advancement opportunities for women, minorities and persons from other traditionally excluded groups.

The book, which is published by Elite Books, will be in stores on May 15. To learn more about Goddess Shift, visit www.goddessshift.com/celebs.html.
