Anthony J. Laura Joins Epstein Becker Green’s Litigation and Labor and Employment Practices

NEW YORK (Jan. 2, 2014) — The national law firm of Epstein Becker Green is pleased to announce that Anthony J. Laura, a financial services litigator, has joined as a Member of the Firm in the Litigation and Labor and Employment practices. He will reside in the firm's Newark office.

Mr. Laura, previously a Partner with Patton Boggs, represents financial services industry clients with a particular emphasis on consumer class action litigation and the defense of claims for predatory lending, deceptive practices, and statutory consumer lending violations. In addition, he counsels and litigates for financial services clients across the spectrum of employee relations matters, including enforcement of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, and defense of wrongful discharge claims in state and federal courts.

"We have been advising and representing domestic and multinational financial services clients on a wide array of ligation-based matters for almost four decades. As lawmakers, regulators, and government investigators continue to shine the spotlight on the financial services industry after the recent crisis and fallout, we continue to foresee a significant rise in litigation work in this sector in 2014 and beyond. Having an attorney of Anthony's caliber on our team will further strengthen our ability to offer these clients innovative strategies designed to produce legally and fiscally sound results," said Kenneth J. Kelly, Co-Chair of Epstein Becker Green's Litigation Steering Committee.

"As we continue to pursue this focused strategy on key industries, it is essential for us to add laterals such as Anthony who have tremendous breadth and depth in a specific niche that we have identified as an area for potential growth," added David Garland, Chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Steering Committee.

Mr. Laura said, "Epstein Becker Green's attorneys have an extraordinarily long history and a high volume of litigation experience for financial service clients and have litigated thousands of cases successfully throughout the country. I look forward to being a part of a well-established team that understands the complex regulatory environment these clients operate in and the unique challenges they face."
