New York, NY (November 7, 2016) – Epstein Becker Green (EBG) is pleased to announce the addition of Sharon Lippett, an accomplished employee benefits attorney with 30 years of legal and benefit administration experience, as a Member of the Firm in its Employee Benefits practice in New York.

Ms. Lippett has substantial experience in all aspects of employee benefits law and has considerable experience advising clients in the financial services sector. She has provided counsel to plan sponsors on matters relating to tax-qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, welfare plans, cafeteria plans and plan asset administration. Her practice will focus on the design, establishment, communication, and legal compliance of compensation and benefit arrangements, including non-qualified deferred compensation plans and qualified retirement plans.

Ms. Lippett also counsels fiduciaries (including investment fiduciaries) of retirement plans and welfare plans on compliance with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code in connection with plan administration and the investment of plan assets. In addition, she provides advice on benefit matters and compliance with ERISA and HIPAA related to corporate transactions and plan terminations, securities offerings, and credit agreements.

“Adding an attorney of Sharon’s caliber further enhances the superior client service and strategic counsel we provide to our sophisticated national client base,” said David W. Garland, Chair of the firm's National Labor and Employment Steering Committee. “Sharon’s deep knowledge of employee benefits will help our clients for years to come. We are thrilled to welcome her to Epstein Becker Green.”

Prior to joining EBG, Ms. Lippett was an attorney in the Compensation, Governance & ERISA Group of Shearman & Sterling LLP. Before practicing law, she was a compensation and benefits manager in the corporate headquarters of a major telecommunications company.

“Epstein Becker Green has an outstanding national reputation for best-in-class client services in employment law and employee benefits strategy and counsel,” said Ms. Lippett. “I am thrilled for the opportunity to add my experience and knowledge to the firm’s growing employee benefits practice.”

Ms. Lippett is the third recent significant addition to EBG’s benefits practice. Christopher A. McMican joined the firm as a Member in August (from Miller Canfield) and Andrew E. Shapiro joined EBG as a Senior Counsel in October (from the Hay Group).
